2006
The installation Occurrence explores the relationship between memory, imagination, experience and the human environment. The installation replicates the natural environment within a cityscape including temperature, wind, sound, smell, and lighting conditions. Independently modified sound waves powered by external amplifiers control scent, lighting, and wind conditions. The only visual stimulus inside the space is the electronics used to recreate the synthetic atmosphere. The viewer is left to create the visual landscape using their memory and imagination to respond to artificial sensations. |
